Wild Boar Caerphilly Challenge Series

Taking place on the 10th of May 2014, The Caerphilly Challenge Series will have routes suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.

This Year Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Countryside and Landscape Service, in conjunction with Rhymney Comprehensive School, Caerphilly Adventure Group, Ramblers Cymru and other partners, are once again throwing down a challenge to walkers of all abilities.

From a 1 mile stroll along the banks of the Rhymney River’ to taking up the challenge of the monstrous 22 mile ‘Wild Boar’, there will be a Challenge walk to suit you - no matter how fit you are!

Challenge options

  • 1-5 mile route (led walk)
  • 9 mile route (led walk)
  • 14 mile route (self-led challenge)
  • 22 mile route (self-led challenge)

Key Features

  • Water is available at each checkpoint

For longer routes: -

  • Minimum entry age is 12, all entrants under 18 must be fit enough to complete the challenge and be accompanied by a responsible adult
  • Cut off times apply i.e. you will be required to retire early if you don’t make each checkpoint within a certain time
  • Entry fee payable (Under 18 - £2 discount)
  • Booking opens on the 1 January
  • Early bird discount if you book on before 1 March 2014
  • No entries on the day
  • Closing date for bookings 22 April 2014

For 1-5 mile route: -

  • No Minimum age
  • Free entry on the day
