Scarpa Ranger GTX and Scarpa Ranger Lite GTX Wmn

The Scarpa Ranger has been around for a long time in various guises which is a tribute to the boots appropriatness, quality, fit and appeal for country and hill walking and for Ramblers.

So it's a great boot, but what's so different about the new Scarpa Ranger 2 GTX and Scarpa Ranger 2 GTX Activ Lite Wmn?

The key thing is that they are lighter. In the case of the womens version it's 10% lighter. This has been achieved by using a lighter sole unit. Whilst the sole is lighter it still has the same tread depth as previous models so there should be no compromises in longevity and the integral protective rand to help look after the leather upper remains. The use of a slightly thinner leather in the case of the ladies Ranger provides them with further weight saving whilst removing all stitching from the inside of the cuff has added comfort.

The new Scarpa Rangers still incorporate Scarpa’s Activ Fit technology which makes the Ranger feel really luxurious at all times due to the use of memory foam in key areas like the heal.

How can you tell whether the Ranger you are buying is one of the new ones?

1. shop at Up and Under as we are always up front about this kind of thing,

2. the sole unit has a groove in the sides of the heal block and a grid pattern between the lugs on the base,

3. they physically feel lighter in the hand if you get the chance to compare them and remember that 100g saved every double step is a huge amount across a days walk.

To celebrate the launch of these new boots we are giving away some Scarpa goodies to the first purchasers both instore and online. Come on in and give them a try.
