Paul Tierney breaks the 214 Peak Wainwright Record

Paul Tierney breaks Wainwright Record

A huge well done to inov-8 ambassador Paul Tierney who has set an incredible new fastest time for summiting all 214 of Alfred Wainwright’s Lake District peaks in one go. He broke the record set by Steve Birkinshaw in 2014, which was documented in his book There Is No Map In Hell.

Paul ran and fast-hiked 318-miles across rocky, remote and often trackless terrain, climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest four times, to set a new record time of 6 days, 6 hours and 5 minutes. He knocked almost 7 hours off the previous record.

A challenge of this magnitude demands not only extreme physical strength and mental toughness, but tried and tested kit you can rely on. Paul chose inov-8 shoes to keep his feet almost entirely blister-free for the 318-mile run. He wore our X-TALON 260 ULTRAas stocked by Up and Under in Cardiff which is a wider-fitting shoe thats perfect for longer distances when comfort is and grip is crucial.
