Eisfeld Guide SO Hooded Jacket

Part of Mammut's Eiger Extreme range, this jacket lives up to the 'Absolute Alpine' standard it was designed for. Whether you're out on a high ski tour or ice climbing expedition, the Eisfeld Guide is the ultimate softshell for you. It is breathable, allowing you to be more comfortable mid-sequence, as well as flexible, thanks to Mammut's Georganic 3D design, so it won't hinder you on those tricky sections of a climb, and it is partly waterproof, taped in the exposed areas which use Gore-Tex® Infinium™, which means that come light showers or heavy wind, you still get to be warm.

Complete with a helmet-compatible, storm-proof Mammut Single Pull Hood, and High Visibility Backer Technology, you'll be glad of this jacket if a storm rolls in. It also boasts two harness-compatible pockets, a two-way water-resistant YKK zip and an internal zipped pocket. The finish is, as we've come to expect from the Eiger Extreme range, excellent, and the jacket comes built-in with MAMMUT CONNECT, a technology which, once your product is registered, allows an extended manufacturer's warranty, with more features being developed.

Rob Smith - Offa's Dyke In One Sitting - A new unsupported FKT

I set out from the official start (or end) of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail in Prestatyn with the intention of running (jogging, hiking and a lot of hobbling) – the 177 miles to the other end of the trail at Sedbury Cliffs, just outside Chepstow. I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
