An all-round, versatile hooded jacket perfect for rock, ice and alpine climbing. Being the warmest option in the Proton series, it still creates the perfect balance between warmth and airflow. Designed to perform as both a softshell outer layer and as a mid-layer under a waterproof shell; it is constructed to provide thermal protection while allowing air to pass freely in and out of the jacket. Designed to be abrasion resistant, wind resistant, water resistant and air permeable, make it one of the top performers in its category... I mean what more could you want? This helps to reduce a build up of vapour within the jacket, so it can continually regulate itself over a wide range of temperatures and conditions.

Patterned with articulated elbows and gusseted underarms allows total freedom of movement. Fitted with a fully insulated hood which is fully helmet compatible (see image), the adjustable drawcords ensure a snug fit. The drop back hem has a dual adjuster system as well, to ensure heat does not escape from the base of the jacket; it also ensure a good fit. The Proton AR Hoody is highly compressible and can pack down small, saving that precious space in your rock, ice or alpine rucksacks.

Made of Arc'teryx Coreloft™ insulation, this synthetic insulation is made of staple fibres in mixed sizes that are crimped to trap air and retain warmth. Incredibly lightweight, durable and resilient. Also allows the jacket to retain it's warmth in humid and wet conditions, and dry quickly if wet.
