Walking, hiking and mountaineering waterproof jacket

The Beta AR is Arc’teryx's most popular jacket and for good reason. The jacket like all Arc’teryx products uses the best quality materials available, provides incredible fit, the perfect balance of weight and durability and as the AR suggests as an all-rounder this jacket certainly delivers.
The jacket really can take it all in its stride, from hill walking in the Brecon Beacons to ice climbing in the Scottish Cairngorms and everything in between. The Beta AR has a very clean and sharp look, meaning it doesn't look out of place for urban use. It is this versatility that makes this jacket so popular.
Using GoreTex Pro Shell fabric, with reinforced shoulders and forearms and a WaterTight Vision front zip this jacket will hold out the worst weather the mountain can chuck at you. GoreTex Pro Shell is renowned as the ultimate, zero compromise material when it comes to waterproof garments. It offers an unparalleled mix of waterproofness, durability and breathability. To further improve the performance of the jacket the taping inside the jacket is extremely thin and the overlap ofpanels is minmal in order to maximise breathability and minimise weight.
The jacket has a high collar with a fold back hood making it more comfortable to wear with the hood down. The hood itself is big enough to accommodate a helmet if needed but can be synched down to give a great seal around the face with a highly functional peak. The pit zips and front pockets are laminated to stop water, the front pockets are also raised to allow for hip belt or harness.

The fit of the jacket is based on Arcteryx's extensive research on the shape of the human body and the movements we make. This means there is plenty of articulation around the arms and shoulders and very little lift at the waist.
