Minimalist, lightweight climbing pack

The Patagonia Ascensionist Packs have been designed to be streamlined and ergonomic with fast ascents of one- or two-day routes in mind. This back pack has a completely minimalist design with no extra fuss - only featuring elements that will help you move fast and pack easily.

The integrated, asymmetrical collar opens wide and closes easily and securely in a single motion with a drawcord for easy access and fast packing. The shoulder straps with load lifters are ergonomic and match the contours of the torso for comfort when on the move all day. A good range of motion, needed for speedy ascents, is also possible due to the asymmetric profile allowing elbow clearance. A hip-belt and sternum strap with minimalist design and no extra fuss are also included to get the best fit when on the move whilst saving weight. Other features include fastenings and four rows of exterior daisy chains for securing your rope, helmet, axes and other gear and a small zippered pocket on the lid for quick access to small essentials. The materials are lightweight and durable210-denier Cordura® 86% nylon/14% polyester with a polyurethane coating and an extra foam layer at the base to prevent abrasion damage when you're packing up.

All these useful features on the 30L Ascensionist, and its big brother the Ascensionist 40L, make these packs ideal for your fast and light days in the mountains.

Have a look at some of the other features as explained by Kelly Cordes, Alpine and Rock Climbing Ambassador for Patagonia, in his Patagonia Ascensionist 30L review below:

  • Closure: Asymmetrical spindrift collar opens wide and closes fast with drawcord

Pembrokeshire Coastal Ultra Races

Up and Under are proud to be involved with the 3 Pembrokeshire Coastal Ultra Races in May 2018. Run Britains only Coastal National Trail the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path as a 180m 5 day race. Alternatively run a 100 mile section either in one go or as a 3 day event. Long cut off times mean these events suit runners and long distance walkers alike and are super friendly and serious fun.
