2 Man Sit On Top Kayak or  Tandem Sit On Top Kayak

Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130 Tandem - Gear Review

The Wilderness Systems E 130 Tandem is a 2 person sit on kayak, however it will take a third passenger if required. The maximum carrying capacity is 249KG. This is possibly one of the best 2 man sit on top kayaks out there.

Wilderness Systems have designed the Tarpon 130 around a self bailing cockpit system. This clever system gives great levels of safety. In the event of the sit on top kayak capsizing you can simply turn the kayak back over and climb back on. It is possible that the kayak scupper holes can be sealed with scupper plugs, this is ideal for paddling on flat water but not recommended for choppy water. This is a versatile sit on kayak, the strong keel line gives great tracking, however it is also highly manoeuvrable for getting in and out of small bays and caves. The Tarpon 130 features three seats,  The first of these is towards the front of the kayak, the second is at the rear. These are the main seating positions for paddling as a pair. If you wish to take a passenger or paddle the kayak solo, there is a central seat.  The front and rear seats come complete with very supportive kayak backrests, these easily fold flat for transport. When it comes to man handling the Tarpon 130 to the waters edge, there are front, rear and also side kayak carry handles.  If you are going for a long day trip, there are a number of storage options. Firstly there is a large tank well on the rear of the kayak that is ideal for a kayak dry bag. There is a second storage area on the front of the kayak also ideal for a small dry bag, both of these areas are protected by bungee elastics. Located adjacent to the front and rear seating position are two small kayak hatches. These are great for smaller items you want easily to hand.
