The Marmot Women's PreCip Pant waterproof trousers have always been very light (only 229g) with a reasonable level of breathability. They are designed for runners, cyclists and walkers who need minimum weight and minimum bulk at a good price. Featuring ankle side zips with snap tab at the cuffs, front zip handwarmer pockets, a back zipped pocket and an elastic waist with drawcord. We also offer a shorter version which (based on a medium) has a length of 29" in comparison to the regular leg length of 31".
For spring 2014 and beyond the PreCip range moves from PreCip fabric (used in the 2013 version) to NanoPro™ Marmot's most comfortable waterproof/breathable coating technology ever, with a 43% improvement in breathability. Once again the Marmot Women's PreCip Pant sets the standard for lightweight backpacking, hiking and mountain travel rainwear that is eminently affordable.
NanoPro™
NanoPro's™ microporous structure is dynamically air permeable, allowing for air exchange to help shed excess moisture vapor without compromising the waterproofness or windproofness of the garment.
The pores are 30% smaller than previous generations and are very densely packed providing enhanced breathability while maintaining excellent long term durable waterproofness for such a light jacket. This pore structure is also air permeable allowing for dynamic air exchange. This air permeability combined with the enhanced breathability creates a fabric that is incredibly comfortable through a wide range of activities.
