In this section you can find items that you will need for bolting caves. If you can't find it here, we can probably get it for you, especially if it is made by Petzl.
In this country, eco-anchors are generally used and placing lots of new bolts at the top of pitches is frowned upon (unless you are replacing dangerous old ones, in which case, thank you!) but for expedition caving you will need to either bolt the cave as you go or be comfortable rigging from naturals.
Our hand drills are small, lightweight and while they take more energy to use than a battery powered drill, they take much less energy to get to the pitch head (assuming your cave is going!) and can be recharged with chocolate.
We have the Petzl Cheville 8mm self drilling expansion bolt as our anchor of choice, but if you haven't used one before it is well worth reading Petzl's instructions for use, especially if you will be using an SDS drill bit.
We also have a couple of different options for hangers, both of which fit 8mm anchors and it is well worth taking these on less popular routes here and any routes abroad as the hangers may not be in situ - in cood condition. As this isn't the only size available, however, you should check with local cavers or guidebooks first.
