The Beal Be Safe is a HMS screwlock karabiner that's perfect for use with belay devices as it can accommodate two ropes at once, without the risk of them becoming overlapped in the event of a fall. The reception cradle ensures that the two ropes slide together and does not generate friction on the sides of the carabiner when the rope is braked. This is true whether rappelling or stopping a fall.
The Beal Orient Express is a unidirectional locking carabiner designed for use with belay devices. Thanks to the internal snap gate that clips onto a harness belay loop, the carabiner cannot turn over. This ensures the carabiner stays in the correct direction thus reducing the risk of the belay system being weakened through cross loading.
The DMM 30kN Boa HMS Keylock is the heavier duty version of the 25kN Boa, it is hot forged from 14mm bar which gives it the 30kN major axis rescue that's required for rescue loads. Its ergonomics ensure that it is still easily operated whilst wearing gloves and the curved basket copes with even the busiest rigging set ups, allowing devices to settle comfortably.
The DMM Phantom HMS is an extremely compact and lightweight, yet strong karabiner with an optimised rope bearing surface that's ideally suited for belaying and rigging. The extra-short gate and slim tapering nose can easily take clove hitches and clipping slings.
The DMM Shadow HMS is a large, but lightweight HMS karabiner with a short gate to maximise gate opening. The deep and wide top basket can take three clove hitches (<9.5mm rope).
The Mammut Smart HMS 2.0 Screwgate Carabiner offers the same double safety and easy handling as the older version. The screw locking can beĀ operated only when the safety gate is open. Accidental opening is excluded, as well as unintentional twisting of the carabiner in the belay loop of the climbing harness. This prevents dangerous lateral loading. Mammut recommends use of the Smart HMS 2.0 carabiner for the Smart 2.0 belay device.
The Edelrid HMS Bulletproof Belay FG Eco is a trend-setting belay carabiner with innovative locking mechanism, steel insert in the apex and without anodization. The integrated spring bar reliably prevents the carabiner from twisting in the tie-in loop to eliminate the risk of cross loading. In addition, the bar can only be opened if pressed from above, preventing the tie-in loop from accidentally changing position. Thanks to the compact design and slide gate closure, however this karabiner still has a slender profile and can be operated one-handed.
The Mammut Crag HMS is a durable and sleek HMS carabiner featuring a Key Lock nose and Screw Gate locking mechanism.
