HMS Karabiner

The Beal Be Lock is a large HMS carabiner designed for easy use with double (halves and twins) rope systems. The large surface area provides easy control in all weather. The Be Lock is particularly suitable for HMS belays and double rope manoeuvres, such as capstan or half-capstan.

The Mammut Smart HMS 2.0 Screwgate Carabiner offers the same double safety and easy handling as the older version. The screw locking can be operated only when the safety gate is open. Accidental opening is excluded, as well as unintentional twisting of the carabiner in the belay loop of the climbing harness. This prevents dangerous lateral loading. Mammut recommends use of the Smart HMS 2.0 carabiner for the Smart 2.0 belay device.

The OCUN Condor HMS is a large karabiner that responds to the new trends of safety. The Petzl Attache is a lightweight and compact, pear-shaped karabiner with as screw gate opening. It has multiple uses for belaying, such as connecting a belay system to a harness and belaying with a Munter hitch. It has a H-cross section to reduce weight, as well as the keylock system to avoid the karabiner snagging during manoeuvres.
