The rounded profile of the textured thumb grip, in conjunction with carefully structured lateral and longitudinal reinforcements, help withstand accidental knocks and guard the low profile skeg release trigger; we all know accidents can happen though, and if you've damaged your Skeg Slider Button, whether during a rescue, roofrack loading, or just a chance knock whilst paddling, this is what you'll need to replace it.

Skeg Blade
The Valley Sea Kayaks Skeg blade is a great option to consider when replacing a broken skeg on your existing sea kayak. It is particularly well suited to Valley Sea Kayaks, but it may fit other brands too. It is made from a 7mm thick piece of plastic, which has a securing hook on the end, a screw and hole in the mid-section for securing it to the sea kayak skeg cable.

The Valley skeg slider button, a small button that is located on the side of the kayak to assist with deploying and retracting the kayak skeg. There are two variants of this and they both secure to the skeg slider tube.

Skeg Wire
The Valley skeg wire is about 230cm long. It's made from a metal wire and it is particularly designed to fit Valley Sea Kayaks. This kayak skeg cable may well fit other brands to! It is easily fed through the tubing on the sea kayak and then bolts into the skeg blade.

Skeg Slider Tube
The Valley Skeg Slider Tube is made of carbon and fits into he slider unit adjacent to the kayak cockpit. It helps to deploy and retract the kayak skeg located at the rear of the kayak. There are two variants of the skeg slider tube and this depends on what is currently fitted. The first option is the version with the central hole and the second variant has a hole drilled at the end of the unit.
