The Meindl Borneo 2 MFS boots are not GoreTex lined so they offer maximum breathability to keep your feet as cool as can be on the trail. Although they're not GoreTex lined, so are not classed as a 'fully waterproof' boot, they will still keep most rain and puddle water out due to the oiled Nubuck leather construction. We advise that you treat them with suitable proofants (see related items) to improve to water resistance of your boots twice a year.
Made in Germany from high quality Nubuck leather uppers, these boots provide protection for your feet and are durable on all types of terrain. Boot Care:
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
Wetproof spray increases the water resistance of your boots and shoes. This should be applied twice a year after cleaning and prior to waxing or conditioning. It is suitable for leather, suede and fabric footwear.
Meindl for Hill – Grade B:
Supportive boots made using high quality leather. The sole units are stiffer than an A/B grade boot and they provide more stability and underfoot support. Suitable for demanding walks in the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland, as well as lower level paths in the Alps or Pyrenees during the summer.
