The Hydro is a zip front buoyancy aid with a number of different tensioning points to obtain a good fit - The 25mm waist belt with dual tension straps keeps it secure and anchored below the chest. One of the best upgrades the Hydro has over the previous version is the new shoulder straps, these have increased range and allow the BA to follow the shape of the torso much more effectively.
Palm Equipment have packed the Hydro full of great features that include two large front pockets, both of which have a mesh panel on the side for drainage and also two internal anchor points for securing items such as a whistle or maybe a VHF radio. The rear pocket has had it's size increased, it's perfect for the storage of a hydration system such as the Palm Hydration Bladder, but can also easily fit others. On each of the shoulders there is a some reflective detail that offers good visibility in the event of a night time rescue. The right hand chest has a Clip and lash tab which are useful for the drinking tube of the aforementioned hydration system, or for securing other bits of gear.
The Hydro PFD is just one of many items that we carry in our range of sea and kayak touring items. There are several other similar buoyancy aids such as the Yak Tahu and Peak UK Adventure Vest. While protection from the elements such as wind and rain can be obtained by wearing a Sea and Touring Canoe Cag such as the Peak UK Adventure Single or maybe the Palm Agean. The selection of touring kayaks is vast, but it is always well worth looking at the Venture Islay 14 and this is ideally propelled by paddles such as the Werner Tybee.
