The Palm Riff 2.0 PFD is a great consideration for the whitewater kayakers out there. Whether your river running, freestyle kayaking or kayak surfing. The Riff 2.0 PFD will do the job. It would also be a great option for other sports such as coasteeing and gorge walking.
Palm Equipment have designed the Riff 2.0 PFD to feature a partial over head / partial side entry design. Which ever way you look at it, its is amazingly easy to get on and off. The Riff 2.0 PFD has two other key design features to give the best levels of performance. Firstly, there is the 3d cut. This ensures that the waist belt gets the full level of contact with the torso. This then ensures a snug and secure fit. Secondly, it features a comfortable flex fit wrap of foam. This means that the foam is naturally bent, so it wraps around the torso. Many PFDs, incorporate a flat deisgn so the foam has to be flexed around the torso, when you do the tension straps up. When the Riff 2.0 PFD is on the Torso, you can then secure it from the bottom up. There is two buckles on the rigth side side (when being worn) plug these in and then adjust to the correct tension. Then secure the chest harness, whilst the final adjustment comes from the shoulder straps.
The Riff 2.0 PFD features a large clam shell pocket on the front. This is easy to access due to the YKK Zip. This pocket has vast amounts of storage space. It will easily allow for a kayak karabiner, a safety sling, ear plugs, nose plug etc etc. There is also a second smaller pocket. This is located about the main pocket, this is easily secured with a popper. It is perfect for keeping your river knife.
