The Palm Throttle Gloves are a highly versatile part-neoprene watersport glove. They feature neoprene on the top of the hand and Amara on palm, this makes them ideal for all aspects of kayaking, especially white water kayaking, as the Amara palm offers very little resistance on the kayak paddle shaft. The Amara is also great for offering a bit of additional protection when performing a water rope rescue.
Palm Equipment have designed the throttle glove to feature a 2mm neoprene top layer, this is what will be exposed to the majority of the elements whilst out kayaking. The palm of the glove then features an Amara construction, whilst this isn't as warm as neoprene, it is great option for use in kayaking gloves as it offers the perfect amount of grip on your kayak paddle. They have also added additional reinforcement around the thumb and first finger. These are the key areas where you may have a rope passing through whilst performing some water rope rescues.
These gloves are cut quite short on the wrist, compared to some of the alternative neoprene gloves, this cut works well with a kayaking cagoule. The wrist has a large opening, however it is easily secured closed due to a Velcro closure, the wrist also features a set of small press studs. These simply keep the gloves paired together when not in use, hopefully to prevent misplacing one!
The Palm Throttle glove is ideal for a variety or water sports such as canoeing, kayaking and dinghy sailing.
