Sit On Top Kayak for Touring or Fast Sit On Top Kayak
The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120, a fast sit on top kayak that is perfect for longer kayaking trips. This sit on top kayak for touring is perfect for exploring your local river, where you want to cover longer distances, maybe even do an overnight kayaking trip.
Wilderness Systems originally designed and manufactured the Tarpon 120 in the USA. However it is now one of several British made sit on kayaks that are produced by Palm Equipment.
The Tarpon 120 is designed around a self-bailing hull system. If you happen to capsize, you can easily turn the sit on kayak back over in the water. The water wil then drain out of the cockpit area and you can then climb back on and continue your kayak journey. If your out for a longer kayaking trip, there is a good amount of storage for all your kayaking gear. There is a front hinged kayak hatch, a central hinged kayak hatch and also a rear tankwell. The rear tankwell is then made secure by bungee stroage elastics. The seating system is so comfortable, it has a padded kayak seat and also an adjustable kayak backrest. The backrest has adjustment of height and the seat you can also adjust the angle, to offer extra support to the legs if required. Further comfort and support is acheived by the adjustable kayak footrests. Man handling the Tarpon 120 is very easy, it has front, rear and side carry handles.
As this sit on kayak is longer than average, it is also suitable for coastal kayak fishing. With this in mind, the Tarpon 120 comes fitted with the Wilderness Systems SlideTrax system on the front and rear of the kayak. This is perfect for mounting a kayak fishing rod holder.
