DMM Cortex/Apex/Vertex Ice Pick

The DMM Cortex Hammer (Pair) is a technical ice climbing tool that's well suited to mixed, ice and dry tooling routes. Ergonomic moulded handles provide additional insulation and grip, whilst an I-Beam design removes unnecessary metal, creating the striking exoskeleton profile that carefully distributes weight, resulting in a perfectly balanced swing. It features a round clip-in point to fit a DMM Shadow, Phantom or Phantom HMS karabiner, as well as an innovative cord point that can be threaded with up to a 5mm cord, this can be used to attach a DMM Freedom Leash.

The DMM Apex is an ice tool with a new and modern design that make it perfect for ice and winter climbing in anywhere from Norway to Scotland. The shaft features an extreme curve, which provides good hand clearance in ice bulges and allows for a technical pick angle. The grip is insulated and ergonomically shaped for maximum comfort and control. All of its components are T-rated and subsequently suitable for belay anchoring.

The DMM Vertex Sliding Rest is a replacement hand rest for the Vertex axe. It can be slackened with a lever and moved out of the way up the shaft when using the axe for shaft plunging in steep snow. The Vertex axes already come supplied with these but it can also be used with to DMM Flux and the DMM Spire.

The DMM Spire Tech is a modern, versatile and lightweight winter tool. The bent shaft and machined grips make it suitable for technical or sustained terrain when walking, mountaineering or ski touring. The refined design and rivetted construction result in a robust axe that weighs in at only 323g.

The Black Diamond Viper has an adjustable upper hand rest which is easily secured or released with a quick Flick Lock system. The hand rest can be as low as the TPU hand grip or as high as the shaft mid-point. The hydroformed shaft extends through the grip for maximum rigidity and a responsive feel and as before the Viper still has a clip-able spike so it can be clipped with the Spinner Leash amongst other things.
