The map cases can be held in place across the deck using the clips at each corner as above. An alternative approach is to orientate the case lengthways and only clip two end corners which allows the case to be rolled up when not in use and therefore declutters the front deck.
The flexible pvc material creates a watertight contact and is then rolled over itself and held in place with Velcro. Corner hooks provide means of anchoring to the deck lines/shockcords.

The Ortlieb Map Case is the top pick among map cases. It features see-through panels on both sides and is constructed from robust rubber that outlasts wear and tear at the seams, setting it apart from less durable options. The secure top closure ensures waterproof protection and for added convenience, you can opt for the carrying cord accessory.
