Energy and Electrolyte

For food on the move (or for those 5 biscuit routes), we carry a range of energy bars and gels from High 5 and Clif Bar. They are less breakable, much better for you, and put less crumbs down your shirt than bourbon creams. Several members of staff now buy their Clif Bar's in bulk boxes, to save us ordering new ones for the shop every second day. The High 5 gels and Clif Shot Bloks are great for endurance hill types, runners and mountain marathon enthusiasts, being the quickest way we know to get an energy boost, but don't try then when you've run out of water, they need a bit of help to slide down.

To help keep you hydrated, energized and provide you with sufficient amounts of salt to retain and make use of fluid and carbohydrates effectively during exercise, we supply High 5's range of dilutable powders in sachet and tablet form. Post activity recovery is equally important on multi day events and expeditions and as part of training programs so we also carry recovery bars, protein bars and powders again from High 5.

You should also look at Mountain Fuel, a full days menu of easy to make, easy to consume and digest fuel and recovery drinks. They don't take away the need for sustenance in the form of solid food but their combination of a pre-excercise high energy breakfast drink, during excercise energy drinks, post excericse recovery drink and night drink to help you recover and get the best rest whilst you sleep combine to make them essential hill goers supplements. You can follow the daily menu or select the ones you need the most. The're really tasty too.

For full information on the best way to enhance and maintain top performance it is well worth reading High Five's information sheet for your given activity. They detail the importance of proper eating and drinking before, during and after activity and the way in which carbonhydrates and fluid can now be absorbed much more efficiently than ever before.
