The paddle blades are located on the paddle shaft which also features the Werner Smart View ferrule system. The paddle joint system allows you to split the paddle into two. In addition to this, it also allows you to change the hand from right to left, and to change the paddle features between several different options, which include 30, 45 and 60 degrees.
