This split kayak paddle features a four piece design so it will easily stow aweay in the smallest of river running kayaks. Werner Paddles have designed the Powerhouse as a premium level whitewater kayak paddle. It featues a 4 piece design which enables it to be made into a 4 piece kayak paddle. The paddle shaft is made of fibreglass and features a central joint. The shaft is also ovalized so the grip is well defined, this helps to ensure your hands align correctly with the paddle blades. The two other joint sections are located at the ends of the shaft, adjacent to the paddle blades. The paddle blades are asymmetric in shape, they also feature a glassfibre construction and are "full sized" blades for maximum power. These paddle blades also get progressivly thicker on the ends for added durability. The split joints all feature a simple push button design, which can be easily operated even in the coldest of conditions.

As a 4 piece kayak paddle it falls into the category kayak safety gear. Due to the compact size this kayak paddle can be stowed easily in the back of your kayak. When whitewater kayaking, it is essential to carry a split kayak paddle, as if you let go of your paddle after a capsize you still need to be able to get off the river safely. The full sized blades are well balanced and give a good clean stroke through the water. They are constructed from continuous weave glass fibre cloth. These are then mounted on a glass / carbon blend paddle shaft. The shaft of the powerhouse is only available in one diameter but it does have two different feather options. It also comes in a variety of different lengths.
