A 12 point crampon with slightly shorter points than the G12 which makes it more useful for mixed terrain where areas of rock might have to be covered. The shorter points and wider base provide good stability. For example the newmatic binding with it's toe basket (shown left) has a C2 rating suitable for B2 flex boots or greater. The cramp-matic binding is C3 rated for B3 boots only.
