The Palm Extrem PFD is a high performance buoyancy aid for whitewater kayaking, designed to provide the highest levels of safety and performance. The Extrem features a front opening design that's easy to get on and off. This is secured by four main buckles and a chest harness system. It has 4 main points of adjustment, plenty of storage and a chest harness that's ideal for use in extreme rescue situations. Storage options include internal and external pockets including a large zippered chest pocket for keeping essentials close to hand.

The Palm Extrem PFD is a high specification whitewater kayaking PFD. Palm have designed it as an evolution of some of their older offerings. With this being the newest version, the standards have now been taken even higher. It now offers even greater levels of safety and performance. The Extrem PFD still features the front opening design, the high quality tough and durable Cordura construction and the super soft gaia foam buoyancy. 

Once on the paddlers torso, this PFD is then held firmly closed by four buckles, a large section of Velcro and a chest harness. There are then two sets of side adjustment straps, two on the 25mm waist band. (one on each side of the waist) and two on the sides of the chest (again, one of each side). Once all of these are correctly tensioned, it should offer a snug and secure fit. The final adjustment can then be made in the shoulder strap region. The shoulder straps are also reflective for enhanced visibility.

The front of the PFD features two zip opening pockets, as well as a stud secured pocket, there is also a inner rear pocket. The main larger pocket is padded for protection and it also features a few sub dividers to keep this organised. The second smaller pocket which is located on the upper chest, there is then a second pocket on the upper chest, this is perfect for a kayak safety knife. A fourth pocket is located on the inside of the PFD, on the back panel, this is ideal for flat items such as travel documents.

Due to the Extrem PFD having a design for whitewater kayaking, it also comes fitted with an adjustable chest harness. This then enables you to add a kayak cow tail if required. The chest harness also comes fitted with a Palm APC O Ring as standard. In the event you opt to add a kayak cow tail, there is also a d ring on each side of the PFD that you can then use to secure your kayaking karabiner.
