Reduced to the essentials, the Deuter Aircontact Ultra 50+5 has been made with bluesign® certified body fabric that expertly balances comfort and weight, so you can devote more energy to the trail. This is largely down to the Aircontact back system covered in Air Spacer mesh which performs three functions in one to save weight: Comfort, cushioning and ventilation. The innovative Clip & Loop back length adjustment offers a tailored, comfortable fit, while mobile VariFlex ECL hip fins and an ergonomic lumbar pad distribute the load effectively. And the hard wearing ripstop body fabric made from performance fibres is built to withstand the rigours of long-distance hiking.

Aircontact Technology: The easiest way to carry heavy loads is when backpack and wearer become one. This is what Deuter's Aircontact principle is all about: the body contact system brings the weight close to the body and therefore close to the centre of gravity. This results in full pack control and an effective load transfer. Furthermore, the Aircontact cushions are made from special hollow chamber foam that guarantees fantastic ventilation due to the pump effect of every movement.

The Result: Up to 15 % less perspiration as with a standard compact back system (proven in tests conducted by Gabriel L.&T and the University of Erlangen) – combined with outstanding load transfer and a secure, perfectly balanced fit.
