Lyon Equipment
Lyon's aim is to "Provide Equipment and Expertise for People to Venture Further".
Founded by Ben Lyon in 1967, Lyon Equipment started by making ladders for caving. Now, half a century later, Lyon is a large company with roughly 100 staff which creates and distributes their own equipment as well as several other renowned brands, such as Petzl. They also provide training for rope access and rescue.
Lyon Swaged Eye Ladder
The Lyon Swaged Eye Ladders are a strong, lightweight caving ladder, available with either a 25cm or 30cm spacing between the rungs. They are available in various different lengths.
Lyon Synergy Restricted Access Stretcher MK 3
The Restricted Access Stretcher was developed specifically for the difficult conditions experienced during restricted access rescue. The three quarter length stretcher has options for either a reclined or seated casualty position for suspension evacuation, or completely flat for movement through restricted spaces.
Lyon Tool Bag
The Lyon Tool Bag is a cylinder shaped, multi-use bag with a 3 litre capacity. It can be used to transport items such as anchor bolts, mobile phones or small tools; or act as a line mug for tag lines and throw lines.
Lyon Wire Eye Belay
Rigging a ladder and lifeline pitch? No need to throw a strop with a Lyon Wire Eye Belay around! These are really useful for rigging a ladder or lifeline when there are no bolts or they look a bit suspect, these come in four different sizes and with a protector. As they provide two anchor points for a ladder, there is no need to add a Y-spreader into the system. We've also found them really useful for rigging practise SRT setups outside!
Lyon Y Spreader
The Lyon Y spreader allows a wire ladder to be attached to a single anchor point without damaging or interfering with the first rung. A Ladder Spreader is used to link the ends of a Compact Flexible Wire Sided Ladder to a suitable anchorage. Its Y shaped construction achieves the correct loading angle on the Compact ladder ends where the ladder is rigged from a single anchor point.
Lyon Anchora
The Lyon Anchora offers five attachment points which are designed to allow different connecting and loading configurations. The attachment points provide a smooth bearing surface minimising wear on any connectors. The design allows positioning of the connectors and rope away from the structure, thereby prolonging the life of rope, connectors and surface of the structure.
Lyon Big Fat Bag
The Lyon Big Fat Bag is a heavy duty beast of a bag, Handmade using tough PVC material and reinforced around its base it is a taller version of the Fat Bag, able to carry 120 metres of rope securely within its 32 litre body.
Lyon Croll Strap
The Croll Strap enables the Petzl Croll chest ascender to be used effectively in conjunction with a wide range of Petzl professional work at height harnesses. It allows the top of the Croll to be held in an upright position, close to the body, enabling the rope to run smoothly through the device thereby reducing 'lost' movement.
