The Petzl Rollclip A is a carabiner with an integrated pulley to reduce friction and redirect the rope. With the A version of the Rollclip the gate opening is on the pulley side to facilitate installation of the rope when the pulley is fixed to the anchor or device.

 The Rollclip A is a pulley-carabiner with the sheave mounted on sealed ball bearing to increase the efficiency of the system it is integrated in.
 
The pulley is located on the gate opening side of the carabiner, so that the rope can be installed when the carabiner is already clipped to an attachment point.
 
Small features increase the useability of the Rollclip: the H cross-section increases strength to weight ratio and protects markings from wear and abrasion, and the keylock system prevents snagging on installation of the carabiner and a rope.
