The Boreal Beta is a comfortable, entry level climbing shoe that makes use as a synthetic knitted upper. This makes it a light and breathable model suitable for long climbing sessions. Perfectly suited to newer climbers but equally, if worn tight can be an excellent option for more advanced climbers on vertical or slabby terrain.
The Evolv Defy is a vegan climbing shoe that is very comfortable and has a great balance of sensitivity and support that makes it ideal as a first shoe. Use it as a comfy all-rounder for outdoor use or indoors on a variety of hold types including volumes.
The Evolv Kira is an allrounder womens rockshoe with flat lasting that provides loads of comfort combined with decent levels of performance. The single strap closure provides a precise fit and is quick to take on and off, whilst the adjustable finish strap improves the customisable fit.
The Five Ten Kirigami is a great choice for beginners or advanced climbers looking for a more comfortable shoe this has just the right features, and pulls them off really well. We were unsure when Adidas had taken over Five Ten, but they've really surprised us with the Kirigami. We reckon it's the best beginner climbing shoe if the fit's right.
The La Sportiva Tarantula is a great entry-level rock shoe that excels at both indoor climbing and cragging. Featuring fast, functional lacing and a neutral shape, the Tarantula is suitable for all foot types. These are slightly more aggressive than most traditional 'beginners' shoes, so also suit intermediate and multi-pitch climbers. The unlined leather upper and high-volume design offer superb long-term comfort and breathability, yet these are still aggressive enough to perform when needed.
The Crest LU Climbing shoe by OCUN is designed as a beginner shoe and therefore more geared towards comfort than an advanced and more aggressive shoe. However, they still provide a precise placement and grip on small footholds whether climbing indoors or outside. Thanks to a very symmetric and straight shape the shoe is a good fit for most shaped feet and as a laced shoe offers lots of adjustment when tightening.
The Red Chili Puzzle is the first performance-oriented climbing shoe to have been specially developed for the anatomical needs of growing feet. It is soft enough for children and young people to make the most of their natural "claw effect", while also offering sufficient pre-tensioning to allow the climbing stars of the future to fully develop their potential.
The Unparallel Flagship rockshoes feature a durable, high-friction rubber toe cap and a one-strap closure system for a secure fit. The outsole is made from RS and RH rubber and split into two pieces. This all-encompassing shoe is built for all things from pinpoint precision work on high, outdoor sport routes, to low-percentage toe hooks in competition finals. It’s the shoe you want to have when ‘sending it’ is on the line.
