The Maillon Rapide Pear karabiners are strong, reliable connectors ideal for rigging ropes in situations where they will not be in view during use. Thanks to their screw-link design, they are significantly less likely than a traditional karabiner to open accidentally, making them a trusted option for secure setups. The pear-shaped design provides additional room for the rope to run smoothly over the wider end, improving handling and reducing friction. While slightly slower to operate than a screwgate karabiner, the trade-off is increased security and robustness. Available in galvanised steel, stainless steel, or alloy and in a range of sizes, the Maillon Rapide Pear offers versatility for many rigging and load-bearing scenarios.
Important Note: The Maillon Rapide Pear has a working load limit equal to one-fifth of its breaking load. Exceeding this limit will cause damage and distortion.
Some versions are certified as PPE (marked "PPE"), suitable for fall protection.
Others are marked only "CE", conforming to Maillon Rapide’s standards but not certified as PPE.
