Founded in 1971, Pyranha has a rich history of innovation and engineering excellence in kayak design. Pioneering multiple industry firsts, Pyranha is known for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in whitewater performance. Key milestones include:

1976: Launch of the Pyranha Everest, their first serious whitewater kayak (fibreglass).
1982: First use of computer-controlled kayak manufacturing.
1986: Release of the Rotobat - the world’s first super-short kayak.
1993: Introduction of the Acrobat, the first kayak with a planing hull.
1997: Launch of the InaZone, the first kayak available in three sizes.
2002: Expansion into North America with Pyranha USA.
2004–2005: Acquisition of P & H Custom Sea Kayaks and Mobile Adventure, the foundation of Venture Canoes & Kayaks.
