All waterproof clothing will need to be reproofed over time, and all outdoor garments will need to be cleaned! How often will depend on their usage, materials and age. A good guide for waterproofs is if rain doesn't run off as well as it used to it's time to wash and reproof. Most outdoor clothing is designed to wick and breathe and so needs to be clean in order to function and even down needs to be clean in order to help trap warm air effectively.

The OMM Ltd Waterproof Repair Patches come in a series of common pre-cut shapes which can then be further cut down to fit different shapes of rips and tears. These are excellent for repairing generally flat surfaces such as waterproof jackets ad clothing, as well as backpacks, tents and other performance fabrics. The patches themselves are self-adhesive, transparent tape strips that are almost impossible to tear and remain comfortable against the skin.
