The Aqua-Bound Manta Ray Hybrid is a 2 piece sea kayak paddle. This can be either used as your main kayak paddle, or you can use it as a back up spare kayak paddle. This would then be stored on the deck of your sea kayak for emergencies. The Manta Ray Hybrid is also ideal for use whilst recreational touring on your local canal or lake. The Manta Ray is perfect for use with a recreational touring kayak as it gives great efficiency.
Aqua Bound paddles are designed and made in Wisconsin in the USA. The team here at Up and Under are very proud to be able to sell Aqua Bound paddles in the UK. The Manta Ray hybrid is designed as a high angle kayak paddle. It is equally at home as a sea kayak paddle or a touring paddle. The blades feature a fiberglass reinforced nylon construction. These are then mounted on a 100% carbon paddle shaft. This combination of blades and shaft offer a very low swing weight and in turn this reduces fatigue and joint strain. The paddle shaft is a 2 piece design which then makes it a split kayak paddle. This is achieved by using the Aqua-Bound posi-lock joint system. This offers the user to choose between either a right handed kayak paddle or a left handed kayak paddle. The kayak paddle feathering angle is then able to be used at a number of different angles. This ranges from 0 degrees through to 75 degrees at 15 degree increments. This kayak paddle is also a great option when thinking about kayaking in the winter. The paddle shaft also comes fitted with kayak paddle drip rings. Paddle drip guards are perfect for preventing the water from running off the blades, onto the shaft and along to your hands.
Features:
Redesigned, stronger blade. The blade shape provides a smoother forward stroke with less chances for flutter, stiffer feel, and quieter entry and exit. The upgraded fiberglass + nylon blade material is stronger (meaning less flex) and thicker, making it more durable and robust long-term.
Fiberglass-reinforced nylon blades are designed for forgiveness and just the right amount of flex, keeping the kayak moving efficiently even with extra gear slowing you down.
102.5 sq. inch blade it the ideal size for quick boat manoeuvrability, while the sharp dihedral provides a silky-smooth forward stroke with zero tolerance for fluttering, preserving your energy for longer paddling trips.
The traditional “oversized” blade design provides better horsepower and control, most commonly associated with high-angle forward strokes and those doing flatwater kayaking, packrafting, racing, and kayak fishing.
100% carbon shaft is the lightest material available, so paddling is less fatiguing and more enjoyable on longer trips. The carbon weave is tight and secure, making it one of the strongest options available.
The shaft is ovalized where the hands go for more comfort and control, and to limit the chances for blisters.
The Posi-Lok™ ferrule is the gold-standard in paddlesports today, known for the secure fit, simplicity, and longevity. Paddlers enjoy the quick, intuitive ability to adjust the blade offset in 15-degree increments depending on wind and other paddling conditions. The carbon ferrule offers a robust solution that can last years to come.
Carbon ferrule insert is light, tight, and right for the long haul. This is a sizable upgrade over plastic or glass ferrule inserts.
Featuring two colour options: Sunset Red, the ideal companion for an evening paddle trip, and the best selling option in white.
